OK – this guitar is pretty fucking amazing! No BS – the hype is all true.

So, a few months ago Sterling Ball sent me an email with the subject “super secret – for your eyes only”. OK – well, that’s definitely one way to get my attention! The engineers over at Music Man were designing the 25th Anniversary guitar and basses and Sterling had just sent me the preliminary designs & specs. Even as CAD drawings I was pretty blown away…

A little while went by and at the 2009 NAMM show those designs became a reality. The 25th Anniversary guitar actually won the “Best of Show” at this year’s NAMM.

Instead of rattling off the specs I’ll led Dudley (lead engineer ay Ernie Ball/Music Man) do the talking:

So, specs-wise this is everything I want in a guitar: It’s chambered which is a feature I’ve grown to love ever since I got my ‘08 Les Paul, it’s got a series/parallel switch like a PRS McCarty, it’s got an upsized version of my favorite guitar’s body (EBMM Axis), locking tuners, split coil settings, unfinished (oil & wax) neck & an awesome, quilted maple top.

It plays like butter and is quite a looker as well. Even John Mayer is loving the guitar. Rumor is he’s recording his entire new album with it. I mean: the dude has his own signature guitar but is using this one live and for recoding; that really says something.

Honestly I can’t say enough good things about this guitar. It sounds fucking killer, plays good and looks like a hot red head. What else could you as for?
